The plant has become endangered due to human exploitation and lack of knowledge about its nutritious value. As Wamzedu Botanical Garden (SHG) we have created a nursery for its preservation in its natural habitat.

Uses

They are often eaten raw (including the skin) or used in jams, jellies, and desserts, notes Specialty Produce.

• Fiber: They provide healthy dietary fiber, according to Healthline. [1, 2]
• Seeds:They contain small, hard seeds, which are generally edible or can be strained out for jellies.
• Taste: Ripe small guavas are intensely flavorful—sweet, tangy, and, as noted on Facebook, sometimes described as having a hint of rose or wild strawberry.
